Our friend and member, Anthony "Tony" Toland of Avon CT, passed away on March 28, 2021. Tony had been sick for some time (unrelated to COVID). We had been checking in on him often and hoped for a return to good health. This sad news was not what we expected to hear.
Burial has already taken place, but the family is tentatively planning a memorial service for sometime in July, if by then it is safe to do so. His Obituary is not yet available online, but we will post it here as soon as it is.
Tony and wife Helen had been married 56 years and are proud parents of two daughters and a son — and 10 grandchildren. Below is a photo of Tony, smiling and healthy, and Helen at the 2012 combined (101st and 82nd) Airborne Christmas Party at the AMVETS in Natick, MA. This is how we choose to remember him.
